Hello, I am Hildegard Josefa Webb. After graduating from Morehead State University with a bachelor’s degree with a double major in English and Socoilogy, I taught English at Greenup County High School, until I decided that it would be important to relearn German so that I could that I could better communicate with my German relatives, and so that I could expand to teach German language and culture. I completed an undergraduate minor in German, and gradually switched to full time German teaching. One day, my husband told me that Ironton City Schools need a teacher who could teach both German and English. I moved to Ironton, where my work day again gradually changed to encompass full time German 1 – 4.
I completed a master’s degree in Education,
For a few years, I taught German at Ashland Community College at night, until they wisely required a masters’ degree in the field being taught. Their German program ended, however.
I again worked on a Master’s Degree in English at night, and for several years taught English as an adjunct at Ashland Community College and Ohio University Southern Campus in Ironton for a few years, until I decided that I could not teach day and night, nor did I owe the world so much work.
